Who are we
Trailshots is a new company that has gradually evolved from the trails of the Tweed Valley and into your PC.
We are essentially a group of guys who have combined our favourite pastimes to develop a small business
The guys and gals that are Traishots, are first and foremost mountain bikers, when we are not snapping away, or building websites, we can usually be seen riding the local trails up and down the Tweed Valley.
Our local club evolved from the mtb-
History
It all started in Glentress, we noticed lots of people setting up shots and filming and snapping like crazy. They were all trying to capture that illusive shot, which would not only amaze your friends, but also be a reminder of your day out when you and your mates hit the trails at the legendary 7 Stanes.
It became clear that all the time people were setting up and snapping shots, they weren’t riding, which, after all, is what they came to do.
The concept gradually evolved from there, the question was clear;
How can people get the high quality shots, and the high quality riding all at the same time?
The answer was also pretty clear;
Why don’t we take the shots for them!
First, you don’t have to, it’s up to you really, but we are here if you want. We take the shots; you have a look, if you don’t like them, no worries, if you do like them, that’s even better.
The benefits are that the shots are likely to be more natural, as you wont always notice we are there, the image quality should be better from a Canon Eos SLR, with a professional L series lens, than the compact digital zoom that fits in your back pocket. We can take unlimited number of shots without interfering with your precious ride time, and we can make them available to review on line almost immediately, or at a later date with your feet up and a beer in hand.
The guys at TRAILshots are regular mountain bikers. We wear helmets for XC and the pads soon come out if there is a hint of a drop, jump or technical section, and guess what, SO SHOULD YOU!
We understand the dangers of our sport and have seen and experienced the consequences of getting it wrong.
Although we will be photographing you, we will absolutely not encourage you to ride beyond your ability in order to get ‘that shot’.
We are experienced enough to gauge the skill level of riders and if we suspect you are going beyond what you should be doing, we will stop photographing you.
We will not photograph anyone riding without a helmet. It’s as simple as that.
So that’s the responsible adult bit over with, now get out there and enjoy yourself and progress your skills safely.
If you really want to get good safely, check these guys out Chris Ball -
